However, there's an industry out there that provides "modular" homes that in many instances are a better solution for your building needs and goals. Modular homes, which should actually be referred to as "System Built" homes, are in every way equal to and in many ways better than a home built from scratch on your lot. Unfortunately, there's a very unwarranted misperception of what "modular", or "System Built" means. Most people, when asked to describe a System Built home, will use words like "mobile home" or "trailer" in their explanation but nothing could be farther from the truth. That's not to say that a mobile home is a poor product as there's certainly a market and need for these types of homes. The truth, though, is that a System Built home has nothing in common with a mobile home and is often times built stronger and with higher degrees of quality assurance what can be built in the field.
